Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith revealed that authorities first received reports of an active shooter on campus at approximately 9:30 a.m. local time. Law enforcement and emergency medical services arrived at the scene shortly after, responding to the crisis with urgency.
The high school went into lockdown, and students were seen evacuating to the football stadium for safety. Television footage showed ambulances and medical helicopters arriving on-site as FBI personnel and other law enforcement agencies worked to manage the situation and provide assistance to the wounded.
